A winner, and a new project

I refuse to let the pitiful response to my drawing get me down. So I went ahead and drew from the ten or so little pieces of paper in my little milk glass desert cup and the winner is....

ROBYN!!!Congrats!

Now that we have that out of the way...I have a new project going on. Before I moved my sewing room, I had a plastic sewing machine cover that I used to keep the dust out of my sewing machine when I wasn't using it. It was ugly, but it was functional. Then one day I accidently melted it with my iron. Oops!

I decided I wanted to make one with fabric but didn't know quite how to go about it so I did a google search for ideas. I found two different kinds, one with the sides open and usually tied closed with a ribon, or one that looked somewhat like a tea/toaster cozy.

With all the dust we get around here, I decided to go with the closed sides.

I drug B and his broken leg to the fabric store and bought several fat quarters, I brought them home and auditioned them in my room, and even had my sister give her vote (Luckily we both liked the same one.)

I decided to go with the main fabric from Option 3 with the accent fabric from Option 1.

Then I started over analyzing and decided that a plain floral cover, with polkadot sides would be blah, so I decided to step it up a notch and add a row of 2" pinwheel blocks. I cut off a couple of points, but I'm sick of teeny tiny half square triangles, so it's staying that way!

Now I just need to sandwhich, quilt, and assemble. I will post another picture when (if) I ever get it done.

What a cute idea I really need one for my machine. We get so much dirt blowing in. I like the fabric and can't wait to see it done.
