Tuesday UFO finish...
I stuffed and blind stitched my ruffled T-shirt pillow closed.
I wish you could see in the pictures what color it really is, it's a rusty, earthy red, not as red as it seems. It looks really cute with my two little fall pillows that I made last year or the year before, I can't remember.
Wednesday UFO finish-
I started these little skeleton heads several weeks ago then they have just sat in a little stack on my computer desk since then. I cut out backs, stuffed them, and sewed the backs on. They look so cute mixed in with my little candy corns and halloween colored yo-yos.

I think I am going to throw up!
And sadly, it has nothing to do with the flu I am currently battling.

I had to run to the store last night because PF needed something for a school project and I took a short cut through the kitchen needs isle. As I was passing the plastic spoons, measuring cups and strainers I saw something that terrified me!
My head began to swim, I felt faint, I broke out in a cold sweat. Please no! Say it isn't so!
The new "Up and coming" colors are apparently Olive, Rust, and Gold. See...now don't you feel like throwing up too?

Maybe it's because I am a child of the 70's and grew up in an Olive, Rust, and Gold home surrounded by macrame owls and spotted mushrooms frolicking in forest glens. I have to wonder, is this really a look that people like? It's so dark, and dreary. I am so happy right now with the recent color trends. I LOVE the bright reds, aquas and greens. I am happy here.
There was a REASON everyone was depressed in the 70's! All the colors were so dark it was living in a cave! OH MY GOSH! I just had another horrifying thought! What if the resurect panneling?????

I am ill, I need to go to bed and put a cold wash cloth on my head. Wake me when this is all over and decent colors return!

Feeling Blue
I have never been a blue person in my life. Now pink...that's another story. Pink is the color that I look at and my heart sighs.
In the realm of color, blue is probably right down there at the bottom of my list, but lately...this little robin's egg/"Tiffany" blue has stolen my heart. I can't get enough of it, and it is so yummy with red. But alas, it's impossible to find.
I stumbled across a can of spray paint about a week or so ago, and while it's not exactly the right shade of blue, it's close enough that I can live with it. And it seems that I have become addicted to spray paint.
Spray paint is another one of those things I have always looked down my nose at, but lately we have made a truce. We have learned to co-exist the three of us. Me, spray paint, and blue. It's a bright new world out there.

Good Morning
I have more to write about this week and my thoughts and experiences, but I need to not be sad for a little while so I am going to bypass that for now and share something cool I stumbled upon this morning.
You may have already seen this, but on the off chance that you haven't, I think it's really cool and I can't wait to try it.
Fusing plastic store bags for craft projects.
I think this is an awesome idea and I want to make some home made recycleable grocery bags. I would like to go green, but building up a large enough supply of grocery bags gets really expensive. This way, I can use the ones already in my closet and save myself the $1.99 a piece for the green bags. Yay!
Sadly this would never be possible with my regular sewing machine, the one I make my quilts on. But at the Thrift store last week I came across this little beauty. Solid metal body, Singer sewing machine. I thought "Hey, if it's metal, it must be heavy duty right?" so I bought it for $8 and took it to the repair shop for it's first check up. The man there sold me a foot pedal/power cord for $40 and then tested the machine out, said it looks brand new and he doesn't think it's ever even been used. It's in perfect shape and needs nothing done with it. I told him what I wanted it for and he said it will be a great little machine for what I need YAY. I bought this because I like to make my own purses but my little sewing machine HATES sewing through several layers of the thicker, home decor weight fabric. So now I have this one, I am so happy.
I also finally got around to taking a picture of my revamped vignette on top of the bird cabinet. It used to be two large silk plants up there (Blech) and I hated them, they were always dusty and it made this space seem so closed in. It looks much more open now and I really like it so much better. And of course it's a great way to show off my little quilt without just hanging it flat on the wall. I need to find something a little larger to put where the blue glass jar is, this cabinet is over 6 feet tall and you can't even see that blue glass jar from the ground (I took this picture standing on the coffee table LOL)
