Bunny Hill Block 7

It's time for another Bunny Hill Block of the Month update.

This is July's block, I changed it a little, the pattern had a garland of stars across the top, and a star shaped flower in the middle, but I wanted something a little more patriotic, so I drew a flag and made a little spray of stars and berries. I hope Anne doesn't mind.

Bunny Hill BOM 5

It just occured to me that I forgot to share my latest Bunny Hill block.

I don't know what my problem was this month, when I saw the new block pattern I just didn't like it. It seemed so.....I don't know, I just didn't like it and because I didn't like it, I couldn't get excited about making it.

Looking back on it now, I can't decide what it was that I didn't like about it. I just remember that I had a strong adverse reaction to it. Maybe it's the butterfly. I have a strong aversion to butterflies. Could it be the horrifying 70's flashbacks?

The good news is, that now that I finally FORCED myself to make this block, and now that it's done, I like it. I'm happy with my fabric choices and overall the block has grown on me.

Hmmm now that I think about it, I think it's the 70's, because I also have a strong aversion to owls and mushrooms, although the new 2009 version of owls and mushrooms is really growing on me. Maybe there is hope for butterflies yet.

A little bunny told me

It's that time of the month again, a new block from the "A Tisket and Tasket" block of the month series by Bunny Hill.

This is my kind of chocolate, it didn't even give me hives!

I also decided to redo block one, I liked the look of the ric-rac handle but it was a pain to sew on and I didn't want to have to do it again, and you can't have just one basket with a ric-rac handle. Not to mention I didn't care much for some of the fabrics I used in the first block. So...here is the redo of #1

What a let down...

It starts around the 15th of the month, when it occurs to me that I am about half way through the month...only two weeks to go until the next Bunny Hill block is posted and the anticipation only builds from there. I am like a kid at Christmas, it's all I can think about (Ok, that may be an exageration but it's one of the things I think about A LOT).

I count days, I am almost to the point where I want to go buy a calendar just so I can mark the days off with a big red X! And then it's the 4th and I start checking her website, just on the off chance that she might, maybe, have posted it early.

I checked last night at 10:06 PM and VOILA, there it was! Before I went to bed last night I had fabrics chosen, and my iron on stuff stuck on and parts cut out.

This morning I rushed down the stairs so that I could stick them down and start stitching.

I should have grounded myself from sewing until my chores were done but here I am...I have a darling block and a messy kitchen.

Thanks Anne for another darling block, I wish this was a block of the week, I am too impatient to wait a whole month LOL

Off to do dishes. Ta Ta

Birds in a basket

Well, it's that time of the month...and no, I don't mean THAT time of the month, Aunt Flo is loooong gone around here, incinerated in some big furnace at the hospital along with all the rest of my girly innards.

So, here is my Bunny Hill block of the month- Block 2.

I love this pattern, I am really digging birds lately, however I don't love the finished product as much as I loved my snowman block. Not sure what it is that I don't like about it...not enough contrast in the birds? No yellow? Who can say, I only hope that once it is surrounded by other colorful blocks it will perk up a little. It just seems kinda...diminishing.
