You guys probably get sick of flower pictures but they are one of my true loves, I love to take pictures of flowers, so if you are going to be my friend you are just going to have to live with it!
I love these, they look like little purple hearts.

And just for kicks, one of B's little frogs peeking out from the Iris leaves (yes, it's a statue LOL)

Visitors from above
Last night as B was outside washing out his grout buckets with the hose, this little dude fell from the sky. I am not sure what kind of moth it is, but it's so pretty. Please pardon B's lovely yellow gloves LOL
I also took my "real" camera to my mom's house to take pictures of her peach tree. Have I mentioned how much I love my camera, with it's super macro lens? Can you hear my heart flutter just thinking about it?

So many great pictures, but this one is by far my favorite.

Two Lips- A Beauty Blessing for Today
.jpg)
K- Mom, why are they called Two Lips? They don't even have lips...
Me- Well dude, it isn't Two Lips...it's Tulips, and it has nothing to do with anything on your face.
K-Then why do they call them that?
Me-Trying not to fall on the ground laughing, because he would be all offended if I laughed at him...."I don't know bud, why don't you ask your teacher?"
K-"Why can't I ask you? You're a teacher."
Me-"Oh look the neighbor's nephew is visiting, why don't you go see if he wants to play!"

A Rose is a Rose...

DH bought flowers for me for Valentine's Day. I am so excited since I have this... ya know...new baby to play with =0P. And now I even have flowers to photograph. I am positively giddy!

Don't you want to just bury your nose in there and breathe deeply? That is the very first thing I did and sadly, for all their beauty, they have barely any scent =0(
I feel your pain buddy, it sucks to be a lone leaf in a room full of roses.
I can FEEL the velvety softness of this petal just looking at the picture.
Yep, I think Fuji and I get along splendidly.

What is the most beautiful thing to you in nature?
My life writing prompt for today...
Well, aside from my children, I would have to say, for me, it would be a toss up between clouds and flowers as they are the two things I photograph the most. If I was FORCED to choose only one, my vote would be swayed towards flowers.
Clouds however are to be found year round, flowers only half the year (outside, around here at least).
On my computer I probably have several thousand pictures, just of flowers. I will take several hundred more next year. Several hundred more the year after that.
They make me happy.
They bring joy to my soul.
I am even, finally, figuring out how to actually grow them. My black thumb is slowly but surely turning green.
Who can possibly look at a flower and not see something amazing, something soft and lovely, something tough and determined, something full of hope?
Something that exudes just a touch of sunshine on an otherwise grim and depressing day?

Sick of being sick
I have had a cold, sinus something, flu since about the second week of December. It's getting OLD! How is it that I can't breathe, yet my sense of smell is extremely heightened? Everything smells bad to me. I can't even eat because I will put something in front of me and the smell just makes me ill.
I took all the ornaments off the tree yesterday. I hope B gets it taken down today. I am ready for it to be gone. It makes my tiny living room feel so cramped.
Sad to say however that I never did get pictures of our house with the lights up this year. I kept waiting for a snow storm, and then never got around to it, now it's too late, and it will be our last Christmas in this house. The idea makes me want to cry.
And now I can't take a picture because we have this big eyesore of a for sale sign in our front yard, which also makes me want to cry. And on top of the for sale sign, our house is listed online. The pictures of the house are not flattering in any way, shape, or form. They make the house look dark, small, and cluttered. Did I say small? And to top it off, she didn't take any pictures of the best feature of this house, the huge, beautifully landscaped back yard. That is the part of this house that I fell in love with. Even with it covered in snow.
My backyard however, as beautiful as it can be when well maintained, is a full time job, and one that I am torn about. I will mess the beauty of my backyard in full bloom, I will not however miss the three plus hours per day I have to spend weeding in order to keep it looking well maintained and beautiful. I hate weeding between boulders that are full of spiders, I hate spending countless hours pulling weeds from the gravel path. I wish it could be this beautiful, but also maintenance free LOL
I will miss the flowers, the weeds... not so much.
